This page provides detailed definitions for all metrics displayed in CTMS dashboards. For an overview of dashboard layouts and access permissions, see Dashboards.

Enrollment Metrics

Enrollment metrics track subject participation across studies.

MetricDefinitionExample
Total EnrolledCount of subjects who completed enrollment245 subjects
Active EnrolledSubjects currently participating in a study180 subjects
Screen FailuresSubjects who failed screening criteria32 subjects
WithdrawnSubjects who withdrew consent or discontinued15 subjects
RandomizedSubjects assigned to a treatment arm160 subjects
CompletedSubjects who finished the study protocol45 subjects
Avg Days EnrolledAverage duration since enrollment date87 days

Study Metrics

Study metrics provide visibility into trial portfolio status.

MetricDefinitionExample
Total StudiesAll studies in the system12 studies
Active StudiesStudies currently recruiting or treating8 studies
Draft StudiesStudies in setup or configuration phase3 studies
Configuration %Ratio of active to total studies67%

Studies by Phase

PhaseDescription
Phase 1Safety and dosage studies
Phase 2Efficacy and side effects
Phase 3Large-scale efficacy trials
Phase 4Post-market surveillance

Site Metrics

Site metrics track investigator site status and distribution.

MetricDefinitionExample
Total SitesAll configured study sites45 sites
Active SitesSites actively enrolling subjects38 sites
Pending SetupSites awaiting activation7 sites
Site Activation %Ratio of active to total sites84%

Visit Compliance Metrics

Visit metrics measure protocol adherence for scheduled visits.

MetricDefinitionExample
Visit Completion RatePercentage of scheduled visits completed92%
Completed VisitsTotal visits marked as complete1,245 visits
Missed VisitsVisits not attended within window48 visits
Deviated VisitsVisits completed outside protocol window62 visits
note

Visit compliance is calculated based on protocol-defined visit windows. A visit is considered "completed" when all required assessments are recorded.

Safety Metrics

Safety metrics track adverse events and serious adverse events.

MetricDefinitionExample
Total AEsAll reported adverse events156 events
Serious AEs (SAEs)Events requiring hospitalization or causing significant harm12 events
Ongoing AEsEvents not yet resolved28 events
SAE RatePercentage of AEs classified as serious7.7%
Drug-Related RatePercentage of AEs attributed to study drug34%
Avg AE DurationAverage time from onset to resolution8.5 days

AE Severity Levels

SeverityDescription
MildAwareness of symptoms but easily tolerated
ModerateDiscomfort sufficient to cause interference with usual activity
SevereIncapacitating, unable to perform usual activities

AE by Body System

Adverse events are categorized by the affected body system (e.g., Gastrointestinal, Nervous System, Skin and Subcutaneous Tissue) following MedDRA classification.

Trend Charts

Enrollment Trend

Shows enrollment counts over time. The chart displays:

  • Daily/Weekly bars — New enrollments per period
  • Cumulative line — Running total of enrollments

Use the date range picker to adjust the time window.

AE Trend

Shows adverse event reporting over time:

  • Total AEs — All adverse events by date
  • SAEs — Serious adverse events highlighted separately
