User Personas and Roles
Zynomi uses role-based access control (RBAC) to ensure users access only the data and features appropriate to their role.

Role Capabilities
Platform Administrator
Full control over the platform: user management, system configuration, master data, and access to all studies and resources.
Study Designer
Configures study protocols, eCRFs, sites, and personnel for assigned studies. Cannot create new studies.
Principal Investigator
Read-only oversight of assigned trials—reviews data, subjects, and progress. Cannot modify sites or subjects.
Study Coordinator
Executes study protocols, manages subject visits, updates progress, and records data for assigned subjects.
Subject (Planned)
Views study participation, manages personal profile, and receives notifications.

Study Assignment
Users are assigned to specific studies and see only their assigned data upon login.
By default, Study Coordinator and Principal Investigator roles can be added as study personnel. Configure NEXT_PUBLIC_STUDY_PERSONNEL_ROLES to allow additional roles.
